Eligibility Search Tips:We are continuing to improve our eligibility search functionality based on your feedback. Noted below are a few tips to assist you in accessing member eligibility information.

  • You do not need to enter the alpha prefix when using the search by member ID option.
  • You can enter the member’s first and last name and date of birth (DOB) to search for an individual member.

2018 AUTHORIZATIONS: If you entered a prior authorization into Access Express in 2018 for a future date in 2019, it will show a member termination date of 12/31/2018. If the member is eligible in 2019, Access Express will show an effective date of 01/01/2019 on a different line with the member’s new Anthem ID number. The authorization will remain valid under the new Plan Brand/Member ID and there is no need to resubmit a new service request.

BALANCE BILLING:Per CMS Guidelines, it prohibits Medicare providers from balance billing dual eligible beneficiaries. This includes deductible, coinsurance, and copayments. Please verify if members have Medicaid as a secondary payer. If so, please ensure you bill Medicaid for all balances.
